Roca Montiell

Situated in the bay of Tamariu, protected from the Northern winds. Formed by steep peaks with a cliff (from east to west) full of white gorgonias (Eunicella singularis).

Here you can see the conger eel (Conger conger), octopus (Octopus vulgaris), lobsters (Palinurus elephas), fork beards (Phycis phycis), painted combers (Serranus Scriba) between colonies of plants and sponges in vivid colours.

The cracks can follow the cliff and pass through a narrow and dark tunnel guarded by the mean looking moray eel (Muraena helena). Around the site there is a field of grass (Posidonia oceanica) that offers endless exploring possibilities f.e. seahorses (Hippocampus ramulosus) and the protected Pinna Novilis.
